Starting therapy can be daunting for many people. Here at Wellspring, we provide a safe and welcoming environment where clients can feel heard and understood.

By having a clear and transparent approach to therapy, including discussing confidentiality and our confidentiality policy, assessing your history and goals for counselling, and providing information about waiting times, fees, and session frequency, we help to create a sense of trust and openness between you and your therapist.

It’s also helpful to ensure that you feel valued and respected by your therapist, whether you’re seeing a trainee or a qualified therapist. A non-judgmental and compassionate attitude can go a long way in making you feel heard and understood, which can help you to feel more comfortable and confident in discussing your concerns.

Overall, by prioritising your needs and well-being and creating a supportive and welcoming environment, we can help to make the process of starting and continuing therapy a positive and empowering experience for you.

The fee for your therapy sessions will be discussed and agreed upon with your therapist in the first session and may be reviewed periodically. Appointments must be paid for once they are scheduled. Planned breaks and holidays will be discussed and agreed upon with the therapist.

We have a waiting list and it is difficult to predict how long the wait for an appointment will be. For more information please check our Waiting Times page.

Once therapy begins, appointments are scheduled weekly at the same time and day each week.

Once a therapist is allocated, they will contact you via email to offer a day and time for your regular appointment. You will have 48 hours to respond, and if you don’t, it will be assumed that you no longer want therapy at Wellspring, and we will remove you from the waiting list. However, you are free to re-refer at a later date if you wish to and you will be placed back on the waiting list.
