Get help now

Wellspring counselling is by appointment and we do not have an immediate crisis service. If you need more urgent help or support on mental health difficulties for yourself or someone close to you, the following provide a service 24 hours a day throughout the year:

  • Saneline: Available on 0300 304 7000 from 4.30pm to 10.30pm every evening. From April 2015, the helpline is now a local-rate, 0300 number. Calling the helpline costs no more than calls to geographic (01 and 02) numbers from a landline, and is included in inclusive and free minutes on mobiles
  • Breathing Space: Free (from landlines) service aimed at young men and other individuals experiencing low mood or depression Tel: 0800 83 85 87 Monday – Thursday 6pm – 2am; Friday from 6pm & open throughout weekend (until 6am Monday)
  • Edinburgh Women’s Aid:Crisis Helpline: 0800 027 1234 (24 hours)
  • Fearless: support for people experiencing domestic abuse in Scotland who identify as a man or from the LGBT+ community: 0131 624 7266 or [email protected]
  • Respect Phoneline: Helpline offering information and advice to women and men who are abusive towards their partners and want help to stop Tel: 0808 802 4040 (free from landlines and most mobile phones) Monday – Friday 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
